I came across your blog when I was looking for blogs about Rome, as I'm visiting Rome next month for the first time. Too bad I already booked my accomodations, I would've loved to stay in one of your apartments - they look absolutely charming!

Oh I wish I were in Rome RIGHT NOW! We could meet up at the Hard Rock Cafe for a nice lunch and good conversaton.
On my first trip to Italy, the "Gladiators" snatched my hand and began to drag me away for an over priced photo op. I didn't know about the scam and went along with the smile on my face. My husband (then boyfriend) caught up with me in time and informed the gladiators that "we were not tourists" and hauled me away. Ahhh the memories!

That photo is classic. You've got a great blog and a great eye for detecting the subtleties of life here. Plus I am so excited to have a fellow expat blogger living in Rome :) we should compare notes sometime.
Ok, is it wrong that this reminds me of Vegas? I know that's an unsavory comparison to make, but that is the last time I saw someone dressed in "Roman garb" doing something as mundane as getting an espresso. I think I saw one in Vegas getting change at the slot cashier.

Mille grazie everyone for your lovely comments. I was half-tempted to get a pic with them to post for my blogger profile, then I remembered, wait, that costs money! (Cyn, you've got it there!) In fact, I tried to be oh-so-incognito to take their picture. I was afraid they'd try to yell at me to pay them and then I'd have to tell them not to talk with their mouths full.
